"SPACE BETWEEN"
Originally the film was going to be a lot different, during First Semester at University I'd intended on making something a little more ambitious when it came to a Set-Build for a project. Many things got in the way with that, so compromises had to be made.
The second script was separate from the Studio in which we would have filmed the first script in, on location EXT. I'd already managed to secure the (studio) location regardless of what script was actually being made, so I decided to use what I had.
The third script was a stripped back short, which I tried my best to write to the resources we had available, which at the time wasn't 100% to what I'd envisioned, but it never really is (I think I'm quite good at figuring this stuff out on the fly). So on a Saturday, with intention to build to the third scripts vision, I'd set out with a few of my crew to build the set with intentions to film to a particular time scale... Oh yes, we had a filming window of less than 3 hours, due to scheduling issues. Which is no problem, just a dangling timer above my head, but I like a challenge so I welcomed it.
During the new Set-Build, we dressed the set, I tried to make it apparent that there is some clear narrative goal with how it is staged. We put together the set and organised the lighting within 3 hours, and after, within an hour I had a new script.
The idea was to make a 3 min film or less, the pages I had written... 1. I'd written it to be more of a shot-list script just to know if the visual variety would be interesting to carry a very simple script. We shot within the 3 hour window, and over a 2 day period I edited the film, and created the score for it.
